Hi!
I'm Meg, and I'm thirteen years old. Welcome to my
site! I love to perform. This Christmas, I'm taking a break from my role in Billy Elliot, and I'm going to be performing in
Jim Henson's Emmet Otter at the Goodspeed Opera House. It's such an honor to be able to work with so many amazingly talented
people! Also, it's fantastic because I get to do what I love to do. The thrill of the stage has always attracted me, and when
I'm performing I really feel like I belong. I enjoy my off-time as well, so I appreciate downtime at home. But now I'm SO
excited to be a part of this company! Click this link to find out more about Emmet Otter: Emmet

My Story
So, do you ever wonder where people begin? I
sure do! I love to hear people's stories about how they started their careers. People don't always start off and say "I want
to be a singer", or "I think I want to be an actor on Broadway". Sometimes it just happens by chance, and they're just randomly
swept into show business. My becoming an actress has been quite an adventure!
I started out as an ice skater at the
age of three. I skated very intensively and advanced speedily to the point where I won competitions against kids years older
than me. I loved gliding across the glossy ice, and the feeling I got whenever I landed a difficult jump or accomplished a
challenging move. I've always adored seeing shows, so when I saw children my own age acting on stage at a community theater,
I knew that theater was my calling. My wonderful parents :-) enrolled me at a community theater, and as I grew, my roles did,
too! I loved it, and it taught me much more than how to act. It taught me about work ethics and getting along as a group,
lots of important lessons for a kid. Though it was years ago, I still use what I learned there in my work to this day.
But,
it was getting harder and harder to juggle my skating and acting, as skating was becoming quite the commitment. At that age,
I had to practice before and after school. A friend from skating was an actress who had been in movies and commercials. She
referred me to an agent in New York. As I was at the time "too theatrical" for him, he sent me to a manager. It all worked
out nicely and I returned home. Meanwhile, I had won 2nd place in a statewide skating competition, and was qualified to compete
in the nationals in Colorado Springs. I would have to train vigorously to have a chance at winning. A few days after my
trip to NYC, I got a call from my manager asking if I could sing Castle on a Cloud. After an over-the-phone performance, she
decided to send me on an audition for the National Tour of Les Miserables a few days later. I went, of course! So they called
my mom in and asked if I could make it to the call-back a few days later....hmmmm...of course! So, after a nerve-wracking,
knee-knocking call-back, they informed me that there was no part available! I took it pretty well for an over-excited eight
year old....
The next day at skating practice I got a call from my manager about Les Miz. I was told that I'd be leaving
in two weeks to be Cosette on tour! I screamed so loudly everyone on ice turned to look at me....Awkward! So, I said 'goodbye'
to my ice skates, and 'hello' to the stage! So, I traveled with Les Miz for 16 months, followed by three TV appearances,
Irving Berlin's White Christmas, and Patti LuPone's Gypsy on Broadway, and Billy Elliot The Musical on Broadway. Check out
my credits for more. I used to say that I wanted to be an actress when I grew up --- well, I guess I didn't have to wait
that long! It sure doesn't feel like a job ... it feels like a dream come true[=

Interests: I love acting and singing. But when I'm not on
stage I have many other interests. I enjoy tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, modern, lyrical, acrobatics, and hip-hop dancing. I
play piano and guitar, and I love basketball, figure skating, swimming, running, and gymnastics. I am also a real bookworm!
I always have a book with me. I love traveling, too!

PRESS CORNER
New York Times: “I think it’s really
cool to be working as a group, because I’ve never done something with so many kids before, and it’s awesome, because we learn
a lot about synergy,” said Meg Guzulescu, 12, who plays Karen Davidson (Billy Elliot)
New York Times: “In other shows
you come offstage and you might be like, oh, I think I did really well,” Meg continued, “but in this show there are two different
levels — if you did well, and if you think you were really together as a group.” (Billy Elliot)
New York Times: “I
get to have this group of girls in my life like sisters, and that’s especially great because I don’t have to deal with them
24/7,” she said. That drew a big laugh from her fellow ballerinas. (Billy Elliot)
Colorado Backstage: An enormously
talented young lady, Guzulescu grabs the heart with her strength and beauty. (Les Miserables)
The Daily Californian:
